What if it was a suicide and after she took the pills they made her delusional so she set herself on fire

What if she needed to be eliminated, but not to suffer, so her killers made her take the pills, and were going to burn her to make the body inindetyfiable, but they didn’t have time to do this. Or it was a part of her torture. It looks like she was on the run, maybe the false hope and the fire were her execution.

So I think the Isdal Woman was gonna commit suicide but then her murderer showed up and was like “nuh uh, you’re not getting out of this easily” and set her on fucking fire

Could it have been a vampire??😂😂 i mean, vampire cant stand garlic, the woman probably smelled like garlic because she wanted to have a 'vampire repellent'?? Plus, she had a bite on the left side of her neck🤔🤔

Okay, theory; she was a spy, she knew something that she didn't want someone to know. However, they found her and wanted to know what she knew. In an attempt to avoid torture she tries to commit suicide but she is captured and killed before it takes effect.

my theory is that the isdal woman was drugged then killed. see, sow i see it is that she meets someone at a bar that is already set out on killing her. then that person slips something in her drink to make her drowsy and make weird decisions to help him persuade her to take all those pills. the bruise on her neck may have been a hickey or a self defense bruise both from the killer. then he drags her up to the mountain where he kills her. this theory does have a lot of gaps so I'm not internally sure

I dont know how they overlooked the mention what KIND of sleeping pills they were. I assumed Benzos but didnt recognize the name so was thinking it was weaker, probably OTC/Non Narcotic. I was wrong though, it WAS narcotic, Barbituates, which are MUCH MORE DEADLY then benzos. Used to have accidental deaths all the time, suicides. Benzos (Xanax, Kolonipin, Attivan) replaced them completely on the market for this reason. So no those are a great choice for a spy to kill herself, she prob had them for spy reasons & she deff wouldnt doubt that 50 of em would kill her.

My theory is that she was a spy. She knew that someone was coming after her so she took the sleeping pills, and they didn't work fast enough and then the murder got to her and then burned her.edit: it seems that i'm not the only person with this theory so I don't see why it wasn't thought of before.

Hamish Gardner Her body was found in Norway in the Isdal region, hence the name. This video depicts her in a desert region which isn’t true. She was found in a snowy forest, I would recommend the podcast, “death in ice valley.” It goes into way more detail than this video.

I think it may have been a suicide. She may have known that there were people coming after her and that the end was nigh so she killed herself. The sleeping pills were so she could have a quick painless death, and as they started kicking in she lit herself on fire to prevent being identified. Before hand she probably rubbed off all the markings on her belongings and what not as to for the same reasons as the fire. Perhaps she thought that whoever had killed her would come after her family and loved ones so she didn't want her name to be known so she could protect them. Though many details about her case seem strange, this is my best guess at to what had happened. I expect she was also hysterical or on the brink of insanity at the time of her death.

Here is a theory. Assuming she was a spy. The agency for which she worked for didnt let her go and had family/loved ones compromised if she ever left the service. So in her stress she decided the only way to trully disappear was to commit suicide but in a way that they will never identify her body so her family/loved ones would not suffer the consequences. Hence she took the pills to feel les pain and then set her front on fire as she felt asleep. If someone would have set her on fire why would he stop at the front and dont just remove all the evidence by burning her completely ? just a theory

Just saying, if she was a spy, she probably wouldn’t have want anyone to know who she was ,even when she was dead, hence the fire to make sure she could not be recognised. Also, she could have taken the sleeping pills to try and numb the pain from the fire. Idk🤷🏼‍♀️

It was obviously 🙄 not an accident. It seems she killed herself because she knew or thought she had be found out and be tortured so she took pills and then she was still loyal to her country and profession as a spy and knew she had to burn herself and the evidence of herself so that no one else got found out

The teeth isotopes and genetic possibility of American ancestry don't have to be at odds, give the 1970 time line and her age have a US Military father during or right after the war isn't out of the question. There were a large number of illegitimate children born to American soldiers during and right after the war. Suicide or murder, the burning of her front/face may have been an attempt to render her unidentifiable.

possiblity- spy kills spy- spy lights her on fire or puts her in a situation where she will be burned, and the person killing her throws some sleeping pills so she doesnt have to feel it?

3 theories: 1.) She attempts to commit suicide, but is found by a spy colleague who wants to cover up their being in the nation, so he burns all identifying areas on her body, even though she was actually still alive, unbeknownst to them, so she breathes in smoke. 2.) She takes the pills, and then also tries to commit suicide through carbon monoxide poisoning, but the fire gets out of hand and she stumbles into it and burns as she dies from the carbon monoxide and pills. 3.) She was a con-woman, and her life of stealing from rich men caught up to her, and one of them murdered her. Maybe she stole from the wrong person, perhaps a crime syndicate, or some other shady character.

Approximately 70 pills in one sitting is absurd. I’ve been taking antibiotics for an infection recently, and even getting one down (twice daily) is an uncomfortable experience. I can’t imagine how she could stomach all of that, and even then... Wouldn’t they start to come into play at around 20 tablets? How on Earth is she still conscious after 70?! It would take quite a while to consume that many, and by then she’d already be asleep/dead. ....Also, how far along in the digestive tract were the pills?

Just because she had smoke in her lungs when she died doesn’t mean that she was awake. But, then that would indicate that someone else lit her on fire.

My theory. She was a Vampire hunter turned vampire and commited suicide. 1) there was a broken umbrella at the scene. Meaning if she was a vampire she needed an umbrella to hide from the sun. And once it broke she burned. 2) she had a strange bruse on the side of her neck (vampire bites) 3) she took WAY to many sleeping pills and they just barely worked 4) She smelled of garlic. Probably before she was turned into a vampire she would eat garlic normally to detere vampires. 5) she tried to destory her identy due to shame 6) she was and had money from a lot of european countries where vampires are famed from starting. 7) her teeth were just thrown out. Probably a cover up of her having vampire teeth. The petrol was a back up plan to ensure she burned nice and good. Plus they couldnt explain how she caught fire. Its because she cumbust in the sun the way vampires do. Its adds up.

I really don’t think the fire rules out suicide. It was clearly intended to make sure she wasn’t identified and that definitely worked. She was still alive when the fire was set and she’d already ingested a ton of pills. I think you’re glossing over the purpose of the fire too much.

I've got it! She'd had enough of the spy biz, but as we all know, you can't just walk away from the spy biz. So she took the pills to commit suicide and then went to the edge of Death valley and started a fire using the petrol in order to dispose of some sensitive papers. While she was doing this, the pills started to work and she got dizzy, falling into the fire. She jumped up out of the fire and fell to her death in the valley. Case closed. Bam!

There's another potential theory here. She may have attempted suicide, was found unconscious and mistaken for dead, and her body was dumped and burned by someone else. This would at least fit all the pieces of her death, if not the strangeness of the items found to belong to her.

I don't know what I believe, but what if she took the pills then went to set herself on fire to burn the body after her death, since she was a spy? And then the pills didn't work as fast as she thought, or the fire spread faster than she thought? I wonder if any of the ground around her was burnt.
