I like that dude. You can sense his passion, professionalism and respect for his medium (knives). Much respect for you dude, keep it up! Also for the Damascus knife, love it! My stepdad gave me a Damascus hunting knife many years ago and it goes with me everywhere (it’s not absurdly large)

The first comparison is ridiculous. You aren't even comparing the same knives, the difference is too obvious. Maybe try using 2 pairing knives that look similar. I want to see you compare two identical looking knives and tell me the difference in quality and cost. THAT is a challenge, not comparing steel to plastic.

For all of you tuning in at home there are few people making a living at cooking, and doing it very well, who have a $350 (chef's) knife. You're WAY more likely to see that $7.00 knife than you are anything with brass(!) rivets.

okay, i gave this video a thumbs down. but i will explain myself: everything explained in this video is technical correct and gives a good amount of information, but! there is nothing to guess here! even a total knive beginner could tell which one is cheap and which one is expensive. this is no challenge. i feel fooled by the title and by the content. the knive are in complete different leagues. it's a klickbait title. i don't understand why you would have use such low methods when you just want to teach about knives.

I know it's already been said, but this is disappointing. As a knife enthusiast it was like watching someone explain the difference between an apple and an orange. I could come up with some better knives to compare that look the same but have EXTREME price differences in a matter of minutes. Off the top of my head: Wüsthof Hollow-Edge Santoku vs. Henckels Hollow-Edge Santoku Of course by the names you can probably guess which one is more expensive, but in theory you would probably have to examine them in person to find out which is of higher quality.

And a genuine expert (or even a guy that's worked at Sur La Table for a while) could probably tell who who made them all by the trade dress.
