As a Warriors fan, i'm going to say this. Is it a possibility KD leaves at the end of the season? Sure. Is it likely it is to the Knicks? Absolutely not. Look....the Knicks right now and the last several years are basically The Warriors of most of my life. They are an inept organazation with a terrible owner, haven't drafted well, had burdened themselves with bad contracts. They have nothing to offer outside of money and the fact that it's "new york". literally, nothing. They have a top 5 draft pick? They have been terrible at drafting for a decade and you can probably argue they lucked into KP despite themselves. Remember, The Warriors biggest Free Agent they signed of the last 20 years before KD they signed was Igoudala. Even at that time, he wasn't a top 10 player in the league in anyone's eyes. It took the Warriors getting new owners, a new coach, drafting well and promisingly multiple years in a row, Steph proving he was healthy, them getting to the playoffs and winning a series against a team better than them before even Igoudala was willing to go sign there. Then it took them winning a championship, winning 73 games and losing in game 7 to get their first big time free agent signing pretty much ever in KD. That isn't even addressing all the conflicts of KD going to new york. The fact that he hasn't ever really expressed any interest in wanting or needing his own team and to be the guy from the ground up, he doesn't handle media pressure particularly well so going to a garbage team in a city with the most relentless and critical sports media in the country isn't really something he would be clamoring to go to.

As a Knicks fan and would love to see KD come NY, why would he? They can offer him a max deal seems like the only actual draw. Other teams can too who are in better positions. Now the KP thing. I didn't like it, I think he has a great style that is fun to watch (kind of why I like KD so much, lanky with a good move set), but he requested the trade. What should they have done? Hold onto him and just let him walk? Glass half full me says they got rid of some big contracts which would have been hard to get rid of otherwise so that's good. He is also showing signs of being injury prone. He has yet to play a full season and has played less games each year he's been in the league. Who knows what the future will bring for him, but I hope he gets and stays healthy and has a great career.
