This a super interesting video. When i was eating more carbs i was sick all the time, i switched to a low carb diet so i only eat carbs for breakfast and I’ve never felt better and I’m never hungry. If i eat sweet potatoes i need to eat 5 min later because I’m pit of my stomach hungry. I also LOVE the 5 hours in between meals legit the best

I went to an endocrinologist recently and I struggle with weight and I'm pre-diabetic and was considering trying the keto diet. When I brought it up and asked what he thought, he basically said the same thing Gabbie did at the end of the video. He said I would be miserable and that it might work for a bit but eventually, after I stopped the diet, I would just gain all the weight back anyway. So to those of you who are saying she didn't try hard enough or she's misleading people, maybe you should consider that it's not the same for everyone.

Why are you hear to mislead people? You obviously have zero understanding of the keto plan. I would suggest you DO learn about things before trying them. First of all, Keto is not about zero carbs zero grains. It is about becoming fat adapted and using fat as your primary food source. When I think keto I think unprocessed. I feel like this is video is what happens when you are restricting your diet and not thinking of allllllll the foods in the world that are high in protein, low in sugar and UNPROCESSED. This does not mean you eat just bacon and cheese burgers. It means that you make your food, understand what you’re putting in your body, and fuel it accordingly. When done right, keto is not about restricting yourself but about thinking of food as fuel. The big issue here is to not demonize food. If you have destructive food rules- any diet is in healthy. Too much fat is bad. Too much sugar is bad. The important thing is to feel good, eat when you’re hungry and remember it’s just food. I wish you’d had more guidance and support on this keto adventure. Could’ve been a much healthier, happier end to this video.

Y’all to lose weight u need to consume 1500 calories or less. It could be freaking McDonald’s but it’d work...it’d be crappy and bad for u but it’d work. Imma sum up this diet real quick lol. I took a nutrition class and the Keto diet is bad-as you’ve seen-because your body starts breaks down the resources in ur body to make up for carbs. You need what like 45-65% of daily calories to be carbs. (U need 12-20% for protein and 20-35% for fats btw) Carbohydrates serve a function, otherwise the body breakdown ur fats sure, but also ur proteins in muscle and elsewhere. The diet forces ur body to digest itself basically which is why people may get sick. The diet works tho, just not good for u

For the sugar cravings, my family and I drink Cristal light. You should eat lots of fat and fast until lunch. It takes about 3 days to get into the full keto or if you dont want to wait 3 days just dont eat for 24 hours.

I love you Gabbie but this is hard to watch. My entire family has been on the keto diet for months and they have all lost 50 pounds. And weightloss is only a side effect. The keto diet is amazing. Keto flu can only happen in the first few weeks and then your body shifts into ketosis which is the whole point of the keto diet. I am NOT an expert, I do NOT claim to be one. But I know enough about it from observing people I know around me. My stepdad even reccomended it to people at work and they are looking AMAZING and they feel AMAZING. What happens when you are doing the keto diet PROPERLY; Clearer head Healthier organs Less painful periods Weight loss Gaining energy Craving healthy foods instead of junk food I know there is more things but that's just what happened to my family. The keto diet is not something you can try for ONE WEEK, Gabbie! You have just scared off millions of people from trying it when it's honestly life saving. People who insult the ketogenic diet really insult me personally because I cannot describe how happy I am to see how happy and healthy my family is. I love you Gabbie, this is not a hate comment, just please do more research before telling millions of people that they should not try something. Not all diets work for everyone, so don't feel discouraged after this video!! After consideration and a bit of skepticism, I recently started keto a week ago and lost 7 pounds. I experienced not a single side effect. This diet shouldn't be seen as restrictive as you can look up anything ketofied, for example, I made keto brownies the other day. Plus, our nomad ancestors followed a similar diet because there was once no such thing as added sugar, just veggies and berries. I also feel great now that I removed carbs since I was addicted. I feel like Gabby bashing keto was not necessary since everyone is different. Plus she had great results with her healthy carb diet, so of course she would feel bias. I would recommend at least giving this diet a try before taking her word definitively :)

You actually made so many mistakes, that this video is really pointless. You should keep keto diet for at least two weeks because you had only the stomach flu and give up. ohh, and eat way more other stuff like cream, cheese, variety of nuts, hams, meats, also vegetable......... Hi! I was wondering if you could the same diet with the exception that you eat fruits and greens but not potatoes, rice, pasta ect. My friend told me that it was more of a lifestyle for her because it gave her energy and she didn't crave sugar because of the glucose from the veggies and the fruits. Also, the fat is natural fats and veggie oils (fatty fish or chicken is fine too but I don't think fatty red meats is good, not sure tho)! I want to change my "diet" but at the same time, I don't know if I should be doing this big of a change... THANK YOU (and hopefully u won't get the same pains...)

i feel like this would have been better if she had looked farther into it because the hole point is to teach your body to run on fat and not sugar. she was also aloud to have sugar but not a hole lot which is what i think set her off the edge. keto is only bad in the beginning when your body gets used to it so a one week impression isn't a correct comparison to any other diet

I’ve been on keto for almost 2 weeks and I still have a stomach ache every morning and night before I go to bed and it’s the worst!!! And I’m still so hungry anyone have any tips... also I don’t cut out carbs completely I eat less that 20g a day... is that bad?? This is a horrible representation of Keto and I really hope that no one actually listens to this. Please do your research heavily if you are considering the Keto LIFESTYLE. Keto is very friendly, and you can avoid the "keto flu" if you take electrolytes and vitamins daily, obviously she did not and paid the price.

You’re not supposed to eat breakfast during a KETO diet and you’re supposed to have at least 5 hours between the meals so you can burn fat in that time, you can also eat every fruit that ends with “berry” and lime/lemon...

a week is not enough time to truly have an opinion on this diet, I believe your sugar cravings and hunger would have subsided after some time and if there had been some research prior about the keto flu you could have raised your salt intake to combat the keto flu. If you are thinking about trying keto please do your research it’s super important for the success of this style of eating.

Keto is not something you can "try" for a week. it's a lifestyle change. I am addicted to sugar like you are. My mom and sister are doing Keto and i'm trying to start it. It is hard but you are misleading millions of people. You need to do your research before or don't do it. My mom felt that way too for the first week or 2. I'm on the keto diet and it's actually amazing.. It takes more than a week for your body to come into ketosis and start burning fat, so you should do this for a month and you would definitely see differences in you stomach and thighs, maybe your arms too.. it's different from person to person... After a while it starts to become a lifestyle and it becomes easier..

My uncle and my aunt have done keto for months and they have lost a lot of weight. But, they don’t work out so I can see how you didn’t have a lot of energy. +Jayden Smith For one, she wasn't intaking enough fats. The macro ratio is an important factor: 75% fats, 20% protein, 5% carbs. She was practically eating a low-carb, low fat diet. Had she eaten enough fat, she wouldn't have been complaining of hunger all day. Not once, did we see her weighing portions and calculating her dietary needs. Secondly, she wasn't replenishing her electrolytes which would minimize her "keto flu" symptoms. She also was not eating enough calories. And lastly, it's recommended to take it easy in the gym when you transition to any diet, especially keto. And the BIG thing is that a week is not long enough to transition to a new diet, so she never actually got fat-adapted. She made it clear that she was aware of the keto flu and that it's temporary, yet calls the diet "stupid" because she experienced the keto flu. She did not spend enough time learning about the diet and going through transition to be able to give a educated conclusion. Honestly, she could have saved herself a lot of misery had she done just a handful of research before trying it. Yes, she got keto flu then calls the diet a "bad thing". From my personal experience as someone currently on the Keto lifestyle, there's a lot of benefit once you get over the hump such as: lower inflammation, mental clarity, disease fighting capabilities, weight-loss, and the list goes on... She honestly should have tried it for 2 months, then given her opinion. This video is very misleading and ill-informed.

I’m so happy you did this because keto drives me crazy. I get that it works for some people but it’s not healthy or sustainable long term. It was designed for epileptics and people with medical problems. The responsible thing to do should have been to get some help from someone who understands the diet. Undertaking any diet or workout routine without understanding anything about it is irresponsible. No matter what diet. You clearly have no idea of what a keto diet is or what proper nutrition looks like. Every bad experience you had was nothing to do with keto and just a side effect of going into something half assed. It is a shame you have such a big audience yet don’t have the ability to do things properly. People look to you for advice and the advice you gave was ill advised. Poorly researched and poorly executed. Shame. After 14 years and no keto and going from 54% bodyfat to 11% bodyfat I can say that it is sustainable and it is a great diet. With all due respect, this is not keto at all. Very misinformed video. Sends the wrong message in a number of ways. For those who want to try actual Keto "research your ass off" and stick with all the protocols you are supposed to follow, to do an actual keto diet. I am on day 5 of keto and sure I feel out of sorts(more tired, stomach discomfort, subtly dizzy, and more etc...) because my body is going through withdrawl...it's normal. My body is working on trying to change energy sources now, but it's not efficient at it yet. It takes time. Symptoms can last up to a week...maybe more. Yesterday was my worst(but very manageable) and today is a little better. If you do it right, you can manage your symptoms much better than by thinking you know what you're doing and saying it doesn't work after 4 days. Once the withdrawl period passes, you may most likely start to feel better than before you even started.

Losing weight quickly whether it be through excersize, fasting, or dieting IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNHEALTHY. This diet is made for people who have diabetes or pcos and a few other things. You're only supposed to lose up to 2 lbs a week. More than that is unsafe. Being healthy doesn't necessarily mean losing a lot of weight fast.

You convinced me not to do it. Im going to do my 1-2 Vegan meals a day with a high protein dinner or lunch balanced meal diet.

I have to agree with you Gabbie. Balanced diet and working out is the best thing to do when you want to lose weight. This keto diet is really dangerous especially when done long term. It’s just not good for you mentally and physically. Trust me.

You should try this a second time with a bit more research. I think you'd see some amazing results and find a lot of the substitutions you needed to actually eat the right amount of calories, let alone the right amount of fat. I honestly have an easier time on keto than any other macro breakdown, and my food isn't swimming in fat. I eat dark chocolate, peanut butter, broccoli, berries. Anything is technically "keto" if it fits your macros. Also - electrolytes. Electrolytes and eating enough would have solved most of those problems you were having.
